Bio

Naw-Amelia supports and assists many different community-based research and evaluation projects. She has extensive experience conducting focus groups, key informant interviews, and various qualitative and quantitative research types. Some of her recent work at Wilder includes the Minnesota Homeless Study, and collaborating with Saint Paul, Hennepin County, and many other nonprofit organizations. Her primary interests in research are areas of immigrant and refugee needs and well-being, trauma-informed care, and improving libraries as a third space.

Naw-Amelia holds a bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology with a minor in family therapy from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. While getting her degree, she worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the Culture and Family Lab. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Library and Information Science at St. Catherine’s University in Saint Paul.

Outside of Wilder, Naw-Amelia enjoys reading and going on nature walks (or hammocking) with her corgi, Winter.
