As kids head back to classroom, Wilder is meeting them where they are
Wilder school-based mental health services are available in nearly 30 schools, including more than half of Saint Paul Public Schools! Therapists support students, families and school communities with culturally specific and trauma-informed services.
We have partnered with schools for more than three decades to provide mental health services that are accessible, culturally centered and support the whole family. With support from the Campaign for Families, Wilder’s school-based mental health services are now available in twice as many schools as we served just four years ago!
The need for mental health services in the United States is rising. In 2019, up to 1 in 5 children ages 3 to 17 in the U.S. had a mental, emotional, developmental, or behavioral disorder. The disruptions of the pandemic added to the challenges that our youth face, leading multiple health professional groups to declare a national emergency in child and adolescent mental health and a U.S. Surgeon General advisory for youth mental health.

More ways Wilder supports students and families in Saint Paul
Achievement Plus is partnering with Bruce Vento Elementary School for the first time this fall. Achievement Plus is a 20+ year collaborative partnership between Wilder and Saint Paul Public Schools in support of full-service community schools which, in part, helps organize community services and resources in support of students and their families.
Wilder previously provided services at John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary School, which closed and merged into Bruce Vento as part of the Envision SPPS strategic plan. Schools in the Achievement Plus Initiative are Bruce Vento Elementary, Dayton’s Bluff Achievement Plus Elementary and Saint Paul Music Academy.
