Caregiving Awareness Campaign Recognized By National Academy for State Health Policy
Wilder’s caregiving awareness campaign is included in the National Academy for State Health Policy’s recently released state policy roadmap for family caregivers. The roadmap offers suggestions to states looking to develop and expand supports for family caregivers.
One of NASHP’s key recommendations is for states to launch public outreach campaigns for family caregivers. Wilder’s “We Call it Caregiving” awareness campaign is listed as an example of a promising practice alongside outreach campaigns implemented in other states.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for our efforts to raise awareness about family and friend caregiving,” says Maureen Kenney, director of Wilder’s Healthy Aging and Caregiving Services. “We are grateful for NASHP’s efforts and hope this roadmap inspires more communities to take steps to build awareness and support for caregivers."
