Wilder’s concern for Saint Paul’s "older adults" dates back to 1906, when the Wilder Visiting Nurse Department became the Foundation’s first direct service program. It was designed to provide in-home nursing care to people who were ill, many of whom were elderly.
Today, Wilder’s Home Health and Supportive Services serve a similar purpose, providing health monitoring, medication assistance, rehabilitation and other health care and supportive services that help Saint Paul’s older adults remain at home and as independent as possible. Wilder’s Community Services for the Elderly operates several other in-home or community-based services for older adults and their families. For many older adults, remaining as independent as possible in their own homes is a key factor in how satisfied they are with their lives.

The Wilder Foundation, in collaboration with Eldercare Partners, offers a unique Caregiver Coaching program for those who care for an elderly or disabled family member or friend. The caregiver role can be overwhelming, but there is help (and hope) available. Wilder's coaching program provides education and support so caregivers can better manage the many challenges of this role, as well as connect with other available community resources. The ultimate goal is to help all involved continue to enjoy their lives together.
The Wilder Foundation has served Saint Paul's most vulnerable older adults for over 100 years. We create and implement innovative programs and services that offer opportunities for successful aging and collaborate with others to help meet the physical and emotional needs of older and disabled adults.
See how Wilder Caregiver Coaching supports the goal of helping older adults maintain independence and helps enhance the quality of life for them and the family members and friends who provide their care.
